what 2016 can tell you is that plus size fashion made a bigger mark in fashion this year then any year so far. Even if plus size fashion is getting recognized more and more, body negativity and shaming is still alive and well. Being plus sized i know what its like feeling scared and uncomfortable to go out in something that i feel is risky and not meant for my size. The size of my body shouldn’t and never feel like a disadvantage in life, and especially in fashion! I think no man or woman should ever feel like that, even the person reading this right now. People who know me and see me around town know i am not letting my body control what i wear and So i did what i do best, i bought a black mesh body suit that was really on trend this fall 2016. I saw Ashley Graham, the Jenners and Kardashians wearing them, plus sized bloggers and your average fashion stylist.

I fell in love and had to try it on. I went to a plus size store i frequent for my clothes and got myself into a change room and the fashion show started. I had it on with just a regular bra and i thought at first, oh wow.. I LOOK SO GOOD YAAAS GIRL. I obviously over thought about some people seeing me in this mesh body suit and shrieking in horror about my body showing and after a few minutes past i got an outfit together in my head and wore it the next day to work. I know on the plus size stores site they had the model wearing it with a bra but for starters i wore it with my black bustier top so i wasn’t completely showing skin, i paired it with my black skinny jeans and strappy flat sandals.

I walked from the car to work, i looked around and some people were looking as usual but no hate stares or snickers or wide bulging eyed people wondering if i had hit my head to wear such a crazy outfit.. (lol). Then after a few hours i worked everything was great, got a few compliments from customers, i had a co-worker tell me she liked how confident i was and it was great. I survived a mesh body suit and nothing bad happened to me! I’ve worn the body suit a few times now and i love how i look in it, i even wore it with my bra and literally had zero bad things happen to me. Now I’ve worn body suits, crop tops, short shorts, bustiers, form fitting dresses, mini skirts, etc. I’ve rocked them all, EVERY SINGLE TIME. I know body confidence doesn’t happen over night it has taken me years to feel the way i do ( a totally different blog post coming soon), but its something everyone should start doing if you feel sad or stuck in your life. I’h hoping my blog can do that for you in way, or just help you get more of an inch there.

I dare you to try out the body suit, and if you were already a contributor to 90’s fashion and been there done that (why go back?) then maybe try something that you wouldn’t normally wear because society doesn’t think you should (BUT YOU TOTALLY SHOULD!)
