A Guide: Plus size shopping in Kingston

Hey guys!

So today’s post is going to be a guide for shopping plus in Kingston, Ontario. I would say there isn’t that much option for plus size shopping in Kingston, given the fact the mall is going on 1 year that it has now TWO stores that have plus size clothing compared to ZERO that we were working with.

My list is going to be bulleted so its more straightforward instead of short paragraphs.

Stores only catering to plus:

1. Addition Elle – 690 Gardiners Road Kingston sizes x-4x (12-24)

2. Penningtons – Norwest Plaza (beside Bulk Barn, across Goodlife Fitness) x-6x (14-30)

3. Torrid –  Cataraqui Town Centre top floor x-5x (10-30)

1. Marshalls – In the Cat Centre 1x-3x

2. Loblaws (Joe Fresh) – Midland Ave. Near Walmart 1x-3x

3. Walmart – Midland Ave 1x-4x

4. Giant Tiger – (Princess Street, but the one in Napanee has more options) 1-3

5. Winners – Riocan Gardiners Road II 1x-3x

6. Reitmans – Cat Centre 1x-2x

7. Hyba – Cat Centre 1x-2x

8. Sports Chek – 1x-3x

Thrift In Kingston that has an area where you can hunt for plus finds

1. Talize – Gardiners Road (usually I see up to 5x in the XXXL area

2. Value Village – Bath road

3. The Good Way – 844 Division Street

I realize the list is small, but as Kingston expands with new retail developments and I get more familiar with downtown shops I can expand/repost an edited version as time goes on.

Ya girls on Youtube?!

Hey lovely readers! I am here today to show you how I do my eyebrows. On Instagram, I asked my followers what they would like to see next on my blog and a couple people had suggested a brow tutorial.

I am known for having a very bold and blocky eyebrow because that’s just my personal style and what works for my face, but I have some great tips to help you elevate your own brow style to the best it can be!

I would like to note, I am not by any means a makeup artist. A lot of my techniques I have learned over the years watching youtube videos from makeup gurus. I have a background in art so I gathered my enthusiasm for makeup that way.

Also, I am currently debuting my YOUTUBE CHANNEl. I never believed in 100 years that I would be making a youtube video but I thought it would be an easier way to demonstrate my brow techniques and also make the content more shareable with my wonderful audience.

HauteMarki Spring lookbook

To some, this post is about a month late but if you’ve been living in Canada or close to it spring came hella late this year. I know myself I’ve been bummed about thinking we almost had another winter and skipped over spring and my wardrobe was starting to turn into a black and grey mess within a blur of turtlenecks and cable knit sweaters.

So Today I am bringing my lovely followers on a visual trip of inspiration to help you dig deep into your closets and revamp the gloom of your winter wardrobe and start to get excited for the spring weather and the style that comes with it!

I have styled 5 outfits with pieces I am currently loving for spring that can be worn on the colder days of spring, to the warmest spikes we might endure. I hope these outfits inspire you to,

1. The legend of the kimono

Adding an airy and fun kimono and elevate any jean and tank top outfit, just a bonus that it’s really comfy too!

2. Blushing Rocker

If you love denim like me, then the Canadian tuxedo might be something that excites you. I paired my denim dream with a graphic tee for some edge and added a blush pink heel and bag to add some contrast of feminine.

3. Checkered paper boy

Red is one of my favourtie colours to wear. It has a lot of power to it but adds a pop of colour to any outfit. i paired this light long sleeve top with a pair of checkered capris and an 90’s paper boy hat.

4. Ode to Coachella 

Coachella music festival is one of the holy grails of festival wear. As California summer starts in spring, this festival falls in the 3rd weekend of april and it felt appropriate to create an outfit for my Bohemian loving sisters!

5. Brace yourself, and love yourself 

As a reminder, we’re getting closer to warmer weather and people of every race, body shape and gender are allowed to wear whatever they want and don’t deserve your judgement. I love wearing a crop top with high waisted pants, and i paired it with these tied dressed pants and sandal to give it a structured casual look (i also can’t wear jean in every outfit.. lol)
