For those of you who don’t know, Sales force is a POS system that helps small to big companies navigate their sales journey and become more efficient with sales and customer service. Salesforce is a sales tool that helps you with the small analytical stuff so you can focus on your customers and making sales.

One of the amazing opportunities sales force gives people is way to keep learning to advance your marketing skills and how to use their software.

For one of my classes I had to choose a few Modules from Trailhead to better my ‘self’ learning after i graduate.

I did 3 different modules from Trailhead:

  1. Advertising Studio Implication

Advertising Studio is a tool within Sales force but shows you how to advertising seamlessly on facebook, instagram and other social media.

2. Marketing Cloud Basics

Marketing cloud basics is a look into Hubspot’s Marketing cloud where they convert all of the data from all employees and devices from a company into one cloud hub.

3. Audience Segmentation

This module is great for showing marketers how to segment all of their customers and audiences into one area to marketing to them on a more one on one approach. Segmenting audiences by hobbies, age and preferences will give the information you market to them more strategic and targeted to their needs.

When you keep educating yourself outside of college not only makes you a better employee or marketer but it keeps you up to date on the ever changing world of market and advertising.

From the ALS #icebucketchallenge, the idea of charities creating viral challenges to keep themselves relevant to ensure their voices are heard when looking for donations.

You would think when you hear a local town in need of clean water people would be throwing money their way in order to help those people.

Charities and non-profit organizations want people to see them just as much as a high powered brand wants their customers to see them and buy from them. Every one is marketing on social media in hopes of creating something so legendary it becomes viral in order to create an annual bout of brand awareness.

Unlike a brand, Charities need to be seen by people in order to keep their efforts going in the form of donations. All charities are in need of a strong idea to create awareness of their cause and hopefully bring in donations.

I was assigned a project in my critical thinking class to come up with a creative way to get people to donate to The Advertising Marketing Communication’s Charity: water project.

The Charity’s purpose is to build clean water projects so that communities in need will have access to clean drinking water.

I thought of creating a challenge #nowaterfor24hrs where people could go without clean water for 24 hours and get the idea of how much we need clean drinking water to survive.

i realized how this ‘Viral’ challenge could go horribly wrong as people could get ill over dehydration or people would drink dirty water from a creek and catch something.

But THATS THE IDEA of the challenge, it makes you realize how much we take clean water for granted, we:

  1. Brush our teeth with it

  2. flush the toilet

  3. wash our face

  4. shower

  5. cook

  6. clean

  7. pets

  8. half bottle waters left up in your room you just dump down the drain

  9. fill up water balloons

  10. clean makeup brushes

  11. laundry

  12. fill up your pool

  13. water your garden

We use water daily, and imagine not having access to do any of those things?

I am asking my readers, friends family & people who just creep my profile time to time to donate to this amazing initiative. 100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when complete, Charity Water will circulate photos and GPS coordinates so you can see the community you helped.

Thank you!

Since I’m on my phone so much I thought i’d get my PHD in Facebook & Instagram marketing. (jk)

I am on my way to be certified in Facebook blueprint, which allows marketers to take courses in order to better their advertising & marketing skills when it comes to Facebook & Instagram.

As I am currently enrolled at St. Lawerence College in the Advertising & Marketing communications program, I know my days of learning will not stop after I graduate.

In my Emerging trends in marketing technology course we are learning to keep following our independent learning by working on certifications online.

I chose Facebook Blueprint because I thought it would help me in my placement this semester as I would be helping a local non-profit promote an event online through social media.

I am almost finished Facebook Blueprint Exam 310 – 101 Advertising core competencies and Ive learned so far the following areas:

  1. Targeting core audiences, custom audiences & lookalike audiences

  2. Facebook & TV

  3. Ad auction & delivery overview

  4. facebook & Instagram

  5. Extend your campaign reach with audience network

  6. introduction to facebook pages

  7. Instagram buying objectives

  8. brand best practices

  9. Video views/ Video ads

  10. how to drive actions online, in store and in mobile apps

  11. Using Facebook Pixel to Measure, Optimize, and Build Audiences for Campaigns

  12. Audience Insights

I thought originally i’d be done and onto the next exam for Facebook Blueprint but i didn’t factor in how much my placement, 5 other courses & work would push my deadlines back i had originally made.

It is hard to keep learning more when you have 5 other classes to learn. My dates have moved back a bit but my other two certifications are going as scheduled.

If you feel like you would like to update yourself in the basics of Facebook Blueprint, and learn how you can promote your business, or how to help others promote their business/products i’d highly recommend it!
